Presentation of Kyrgyz works translated into Turkish by TURKSOY in Bishkek
On December 29th, 2023, the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY and the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic held a book launch event to present books of Kyrgyz poets and authors translated into Turkish language published by TURKSOY at the Alıkul Osmonov National Library in Bishkek.
The book launch event was attended by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Aynura Askarova, authors of the published works, scholars, statesmen and students.
Speaking at the event in the Chingiz Aitmatov conference hall of the Alıkul Osmonov National Library, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev touched upon the achievements of TURKSOY in 2023 and the activities organised in different countries of the Turkic World. He also gave general information about all the works translated from Kyrgyz into Turkish and said: "Our work, projects and plans for the Turkic World continue at full speed. In 2024, we will work harder and endeavour to introduce the representatives of Kyrgyz literature."
In addition, Secretary General Raev recalled the work "Pearls of Turkish Literature" published and promoted in Uzbekistan and said: "Taking into account the great role and influence of literature in increasing the intellectual and spiritual potential of our young generations, the work being carried out at home and abroad under the instructions of the President of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is an example for the Turkic World."
Among the books published in Turkish are the works of Tugolbay Siddiqbekov, Kassim Tintyanoglu, poet and thinker Moldo Niyaz, Colon Mamytov, as well as Roza Aitmatova's "Kat keldi", contemporary writers Topchugul Shaydullaeva's "Two-door House", Poet and journalist Burulkan Sarygulova's "Thoughts on the road", Atantay Akbarov's "Mothers are angels in this world" and Abdilat Doorov's "For some reason I look at the horizon" were introduced to the readers. It was emphasised that all these works were published in Ankara.
During the event, Secretary General Raev reminded of the fact that the International Kashgarli Mahmud Short Story Competition, the only joint literary competition of the Turkic World, was organised this year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey and the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY and handed over prizes to the winners of the competition.
At the end of the event, Mr. Nishanbek Kochkorov, the head of the team responsible for the organization of the event to celebrate the anniversary of Moldo Niyaz handed over the medal of the 200th anniversary of Moldo Niyaz to Secretary General Sultan Raev.
The meeting ended with a group photograph taken as a remembrance of the day.
