Play based on the novel by Chingis Aitmatov performed at the 9th International Theater Festival of Central Asian Countries

The classic by the world-famous Kyrgyz author Chingiz Aitmatov ‘Face to Face’ was staged by the Uçur Kyrgyz State Youth Theatre at the IXth International Theatre Festival of Central Asian Countries, organised by the Mukhtar Avezov Kazakh National Drama Theatre. 

 

The performance was strongly appreciated by the audience and the jury of the festival.

Chingiz Aitmatov's long story ‘Face to Face’, written in 1957, is based on the dramatic dilemmas of Ismail and his wife Seyde, who escaped from the army during the Second World War and hid in a cave near his village.

 

In the adaptation of the story to the art of theater, the director  Shamil Diykanbay, brings the mother pattern to the forefront and focuses on the relationship between Ismail and his mother.

 

The chairman of the festival jury, the famous Kazakh theatre actor and actor Asanali Ashimov praised the acting talents of Almaz Seyitkanov as Ismail and Nurgiza Dzhekshenova as Ismail's wife Seyde, and thanked the director of the Uçur Theatre of Kyrgyzstan, the famous actor Sharshen Shamshenov for giving talented young people an opportunity in the theatre.

 

The  festival will go on until November 11th and feature  performances by distinguished theatres of the Turkic World, which will come together  with art lovers of Shymkent.
