Photography Exhibition of TURKSOY inaugurated in Uzbekistan

The gathering which started in the capital Tashkent on  June 30th, 2023   ended  in the city of  Nukus in Karakalpakstan  on June 17th,  2023 after visits to the provinces of Fergane, Andijan, Jizzah, Samarkand, Navoi, Kashkadarya, Bukhara and Khwarezm.

 

For about 20 days, artists who took part in the gathering, Rauf UMUDOV (Azerbaijan), Yernur MANAPKHAN (Kazakhstan), Alimzhan ZHOROBAEV (Kyrgyzstan), Artur BOLZHUROV (Kyrgyzstan), Rustam TALABBAEV (Uzbekistan), Ernes KURTVELIEV (Uzbekistan), Yavuz ALATAN (Turkey), Ayhan ŞENBAYRAK (Turkey), Güler FEDAİ (Turkey), Mehmet GÖKYİĞİT (TRNC), Giray KARAHASAN (TRNC), Elena BOLDYREVA (Bashkortostan R. F.), Aybulat AKBUTIN (Bashkortostan R.F.), Andrei VERETENNIKOV (Tatarstan R.F.), Sayana BAIR-OOL (Tıva R.F.), Akhmat BAISIEV (Kabardin-Balkar R.F. ), Shevket SULEIMANOV (Russia) and Sandor UJVARI (Hungary) took photographs introducing Uzbekistan, known as the pearl of the Turkic World . The gathering ended with an exhibition  held on  June 19th,  2023 in the Tashkent House of Photographers.

 

The  exhibition entitled "Uzbekistan through the lens of photographers of the Turkic World" was inaugurated by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan RAEV, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan Bahadir Ahmedov and the President of the Badi Academy of Uzbekistan Akmal NUR.

 

In the opening speech he delivered at the event, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan RAEV said: "One of the traditional activities of TURKSOY, which pursues its activities with a view to fostering cultural and artistic exchanges among  Turkic Republics while introducing  our rich cultural heritage to the world along with  our traditional and modern arts, is the “Photographers' Gathering of TURKSOY” which aims at  supporting the art of photography and building a cultural bridge among  Turkic peoples through this art while also fostering mutual acquaintance of  peoples  in order to strengthen their feelings of friendship and brotherhood. Indeed, this is what builds a solid basis for the protection of the culture and traditions of Turkic countries and makes it possible for us to  show how  talented peoples of the  Turkic World are in this art. 

 

Fot the first time since its beginning, the  Photographers' Gathering of TURKSOY which is traditionally held every year, was held in Uzbekistan as a special project with a more comprehensive and long-term approach, as well as with a larger number of participants after months of preparations. Today, we are presenting the result of this meaningful project to you. However, our work will not end here because the works we have obtained for 20 days will be exhibited in various countries in order to introduce Uzbekistan to the world in the most beautiful way. In addition to this, these works will be registered in our archive as the most prestigious among the catalogues published so far." Secretary General Raev thanked all employees of the  Ministry and especially the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekov, who hosted this meaningful project which took place with the precious contribution of the Uzbek people  as well as  everyone who contributed to the realization thereof.

 

The Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan, Mr. Bahadir Ahmedov,  said: "TURKSOY and Uzbekistan have been carrying out very good projects in recent years. This particular project has been one of the biggest events organised so far. Indeed, one of the most important heritage we can leave to future generations will be the photographs of our country".

 

The President of the Badi Academy of Uzbekistan Akmal NUR who also took the floor at the event said: "TURKSOY achieves the highest successes in every step it takes. We are one of the institutions that follow this closely. Within the scope of cooperation between Badi Academy and TURKSOY, we have organised meaningful events this year." and wished success to TURKSOY.

After the speeches, the photographers and those who contributed to the realisation of the project were offered souvenirs and certificates of appreciation by TURKSOY and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan as a remembrance of the day.

The photography exhibition entitled "Uzbekistan through the Lens of Photographers of the Turkic World - Uzbekistan", which raised great interest and appreciation among its visitors will be open to visitors for a week.

 

Following the opening ceremony, a round table meeting chaired by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan RAEV  was held  at the Badi Academy of Uzbekistan on the same day.
