Panel on "The Vision of Greater Türkiye"

The Directorate of Communications of  the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye hosted a panel on "The  Vision of Greater Türkiye".

The opening speeches of the panel held at the Conference Hall of the Central Building of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, were delivered by Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Altun, the Director of Presidential Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliyev and the Secretary General of TURKSOY Mr. Sultan Raev.

In the opening speech he delivered at the panel, Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Altun said that in line with the vision of the "Turkish Century", the coming years will be characterized by sustainability, success, confidence, stability, production, efficiency, power, digitalization, communication, science, development, peace, values, justice, compassion, independence. Prof. Dr. Altun who further stressed that the Presidency’s endeavour is to ensure that the coming century is a century of the future and youth also said: "We see this new century as a century of ascension and rise, in which we combine the experiences of the past with the opportunities and capabilities of the present and move forward by anticipating the opportunities and challenges of the future. Our  vision of 'Greater Turkey' 2023 which will gain momentum with this year 2023 is the very beginning of our path towards Türkiye’s visions of 2053 and 2071. In this respect, it is a century of key importance for us indeed." 

Following Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Altun, the floor was taken by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev who stressed the  extreme importance and meaningfulness of the fact that this highly valuable international platform of ideas, where scientific and cultural figures from Turkic States will share their views and opinions, is being held in a year which marks both the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, the founding and host country of TURKSOY, and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of TURKSOY, the first Turkic cooperation organization.

"Each and every member of our family, which is getting stronger and closer to each other day by day, is aware that the steps taken under the leadership of our leaders are important not only for their own countries but also for the entire Turkic World! This is precisely why, regardless of the circumstances, regardless of time and place, we are voicing the phrase "We are together" louder  and louder every day." Secretary General Raev further said: "In this context, it is vital to prepare and enforce the intellectual infrastructure of the "Vision of Greater Türkiye" through such events in order to enforce the integration process, which is actually going on today both in cultural terms as well as in  terms of  humanity in the Turkic World and will be going on in the future too. Indeed, strong Türkiye means a strong Turkic World!"

Secretary General Raev pursued his speech as follows;

"Now we are crowning our victories as  we literally show what a beautiful achievement it is to be reunited.

We are creating a new stronger future.

The 21st century will be the century of Turks!

In this context, it will promote our unity, increase our cooperation and trade in all areas, 

We will further strengthen our diplomatic and political ties!

I especially support the "Vision of Greater Turkey" put forward by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and I would like to state that we will pursue our activities in the field of culture and arts in this respect.

To conclude, I would like to share a poem that I read in Shusha, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2023, which touched everyone. 

The famous Kazakh poet Ulugbek Esdaulet expressed the words of the heart so beautifully,

We ask Allah Almighty for light in our hearts,

We rise to the sky together.

As long as the Turkish flag flies in the sky, 

We kneel before no enemy.

We are Turks!

We are Turks!

We are Turks!"

In his speech, the Secretary General of the OTS Mr. Kubanychbek Omuraliyev stressed the importance of increasing solidarity within the Turkic World and acting together. Mr. Omuraliyev also underlined that the "Vision of the Great Turkic World" and the "Vision of Greater Türkiye" are inseparably united and bear great importance in terms of the further development of  cooperation among Member States and Member States of the Organization with an Observer Status. 

Following the opening speeches, the panel went on with sessions entitled "Vision of the Turkic World 2040: Common Future, Common Ideal" and "Cultural Heritage of the Ancient Past in Building a Common Future" featuring paper presentations by scholars of the Turkic World.
