Message issued by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev on Eid al-Adha

We are once again experiencing the deep peace and joy of celebrating Eid al-Adha, one of our most exceptional days on which unity, solidarity and selfless sharing reach their strongest level.

Such traditions are sacred periods which strengthen  the bonds of the heart between brotherly peoples who have shared the same faith, culture, and history for centuries while grievances are forgotten as people embrace eachother in comfort and reconciliation. Throughout the Turkic World reaching out  from the Altai Mountains to the Balkans, these blessed days which bring us together around our shared spiritual values draw us even closer to one another.

As we are experiencing times in which  humanity needs  messages of peace, brotherhood, and self-sacrifice carried by Eid al-Adha more than ever before, our dearest prayer is that the tears shed across our spiritual landscape and throughout the world may cease, and that the blessings of this tradition may bring solace to the hearts of all the oppressed people on Earth.

On behalf of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), I pray that this sacred festival may serve as a means of peace, tranquility, and well-being not only for our member countries and the wider  Turkic World, but also for the entire Islamic World and all of humanity.

May our sacrifices and prayers be accepted and may  the Turkic World and the Islamic World be blessed on this holy day of  Eid al-Adha.
