Message from TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev following the earthquake in Balıkesir

We are all deeply saddened and filled with concern and sorrow over the 6.1 magnitude earthquake which struck Balıkesir-Sındırgı and was felt in surrounding provinces. Our sole prayer is that God protects our nation from all disasters and preserves our people from death and loss of property.

In these difficult times, I hereby wish to express my deepest condolences to all citizens affected by the earthquake. I am deeply grateful that there were almost no fatalities and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.

On behalf of the Turkic World, we share this pain from the bottom of our hearts and once again express our solidarity with Balıkesir and our entire country. Our spirit of unity and togetherness is our greatest strength in overcoming all kinds of difficulties. I am fully confident that the material damage caused by the earthquake will be repaired as soon as possible and that we will overcome this process by standing together as a nation. 

May Allah never let us experience such pain again and protect the Turkic World and our nation from all disasters.
