Mehmet Akif Ersoy was commemorated in the Ataturk Highschool of Baku

A commemorative event was held at Baku Atatürk High School within the framework of  the  Commemorative Year dedicated to  Mehmet Akif Ersoy by TURKSOY in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of his birthday.

A cultural event was organised in Baku for  participants coming from abroad within the framework of the conference in cooperation of  the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) with the  Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the Caspian University, the Authors' Union of Türkiye and the Ankara  University of Social Sciences.

Participants who  visited the  Atatürk High School of the Turkic World in Baku  founded by the famous Turkish scholar and author Prof. Dr. Turan Yazgan were welcomed by the  Principal of the Baku Atatürk High School Eylem Gültekin  who  gave them information about the school and its activities.

During the visit,  students performed plays, sang anthems, songs and recited  poems in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the birthday of the Poet of Independence Mehmet Akif Ersoy.

The opening and welcoming speeches of the event were delivered by Eylem Gültekin, the Principal of the Atatürk High School of the Turkic World in Baku  and Dr. Cavid Mövsümlü, the General Coordinator of the Union of Museums of TURKSOY on behalf of its  Secretariat General.

Following the event which was strongly appreciated by the audience, participants visited the tomb of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Memorial of Turkish Martyrdom and the Mausoleum of Seyit Yahya Bakuvi as well as museums and historical sites.
