Meeting of Secretary General Raev with Kyrgyz MPs in TURKSOY Headquarters

Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) met with Kyrgyz MPs Gulnara Akimbayeva and Gulşarkan Kultayeva in his office. 

Issues discussed in the meeting held in  TURKSOY Headquarters pertained to cultural diplomacy activities and current projects carried out by the Organisation througout the Turkic World. Following the meeting, Secretary General Raev gave the visiting MPs a comprehensive presentation on activities carried out by TURKSOY and  highlighted the importance of artistic and scientific activities implemented to strengthen the ties of brotherhood among Turkic peoples.

One of the main items on the agenda of the meeting was the city of Andijan in Uzbekistan, which has been declared as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026”. Secretary General Raev also informed the MPs about events planned to be carried out in Andijan and the preparations underway to promote the city’s cultural heritage on an international scale.

In the meeting where Secretary General Raev and the visiting delegation also assessed cooperation with Kyrgyzstan within the context of shared Turkic culture, MPs Akimbayeva and Kultayeva expressed their appreciation as to efforts made by TURKSOY in terms of the unity and cultural integration of the Turkic World and stated that they will continue to support these projects at the parliamentary level.

The visit ended with the mutual exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph taken as a remembrance of the day.
