Meaningful visit by a delegation of TURKSOY to the cultural heritage of Uzungöl
The museum displaying works by Dursun Ali Inan, who was awarded the Medalof TURKSOY for his contributions to the culture of the Turkic World, hosted a visit of a delegation of TURKSOY.
The delegation of TURKSOY composed of representatives of the Turkic World who were in the city to attend the 5th Senior Officials’ Meeting of the Organization held in Trabzon, visited the Dursun Ali İnan Museum of Wooden Crafts in Uzungöl as part of their programme.
During the visit, works by Dursun Ali Inan, who played a pioneering role in transforming Uzungöl into a touristic centre and dedicated his life to preserving the region's natural and cultural heritage, were highlighted by TURKSOY officials as an exemplary model for the entire Turkic World.
In the speech he delivered at the ceremony, Mr. Sayit Yusuf, the Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY said: "The selfless efforts of Dursun Ali Inan are of great importance not only for the Black Sea Region but also for the preservation and promotion of the common cultural heritage of the entire Turkic World. His personal initiatives have contributed to Uzungöl and the Eastern Black Sea Region gaining the international recognition they deserve."
Horon Festival at the Sultan Murat Plateau
The Horon Festival, held at the Sultan Murat Plateau in Trabzon, brought together cultural figures of the Turkic World.
TURKSOY Deputy General Secretary Sayit Yusuf noted that the festival will be included in activities carried out by TURKSOY and mentioned plans to bring gather music instruments of the Turkic World such as the kamancha, dombra and komuz on the same stage in the future.
The 5th Meeting of Senior Officials of TURKSOY took place with the participation of cultural figures of the Turkic World who were in Trabzon within the framework of the festival.
