Magnificent closing event for the 8th Festival of Fashion and Crafts of the Turkic World
The 8th Festival of Fashion and Crafts of the Turkic World held in Aktau, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025, ended with a colourful closing event. During the two-day festival, designers from all over the Turkic World presented their unique collections, blending traditional and modern patterns.
The festival was strongly appreciated by the audience and provided unforgettable moments for art lovers in Aktau. The event, jointly organised by TURKSOY with the Regional Administration of Mangystau, the Municipality of Aktau and TIKA, was attended by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, the Deputy Governor of Mangystau Abbat Orisbaev and representatives of diplomatic missions based in Aktau.
In his closing remarks, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev stated that: ‘These collections, which blend the spirit of the steppe with modern patterns, are not merely garments or craftworks; they have become symbols of our shared identity, shared past, and shared future,’ and expressed his gratitude to all artists.
The festival turned into an international gathering with the participation of numerous prominent designers from the Turkic World: Konul Humbatova from Azerbaijan, Asılcan Kambarova from Kyrgyzstan, and Nargiza Musacanova from Uzbekistan brought together traditional elegance with modern aesthetics. Representing Türkiye, Gözde İşbilir and Şule Aydın received great acclaim from the audience with their unique designs. Ayna Durdılliyeva from Turkmenistan, Suvd Banzragç from Mongolia, and Tünde Hrivnak from Hungary contributed to intercultural dialogue. There was also strong participation from autonomous republics of the Russian Federation with Albina Jerlitsina from Bashkortostan, Kima Dongak from Tuva, and Nataliya Posinkina from Chuvashia who also took the scene.
The host country, Kazakhstan, was successfully represented by talented designers such as Nurjamal Nurpeysova, Ayjan Sembigaleyeva, Tarbiya Aydımbayeva, Medina Saktaganova, Madina Massakova, Jıldız Tabnayeva, and Aynur Abdihanova.
At the closing ceremony, all participating artists received certificates of appreciation of TURKSOY and meaningful souvenirs from the Regional Administration of Mangystau. The event left a lasting impression as an important gathering that strengthened the cultural bonds of the Turkic World and highlighted the unifying power of art.
