Ali Sher Navoi
At a time when writing in Persian was considered as an important skill by his contemporary Turkic intellectuals and Persian was accepted as the official language,
Ali Sher Navoi boldly argued that Chagatai language was superior to Persian in terms of literature. He did not only prove this claim through his powerful works, but also encouraged Turkic intellectuals of the following generations to produce works along the same principles.
