In his opening speech, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev emphasized the unifying power of art, stating that:"Today, we are witnessing not only photographs, but also the spirit of an ancient region and traces of our brotherhood. Throughout history, the Silk Road has not only been a route for trade, but also a vast corridor where cultures, beliefs, and human stories have intertwined. These images captured through the lens of Hungarian photographer Sándor Ujvári are a living testimony to the deep cultural bonds reaching out from Uzbekistan to Hungary. At TURKSOY, we are delighted to showcase this shared memory of the Turkic World through visual arts in the heart of Europe and share it with our Hungarian friends."
Comments on the photographs featured in the exhibition were shared by Vojtkó Ferenc, the Director General of the Fehérliliom Folk School, and photographer Ujvári Sándor. The discussions highlighted the cultural continuity and impressions of human life and traditions embodied in the structure of the Silk Road.
