Inaugural ceremony of the Kyrgyz Manaschy Sayakbay Karalaev in Hungary

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev attended the opening ceremony of the monument erected in Hungary in memory of the famous Kyrgyz Manasist Sayakbay Karalaev.

 

The opening ceremony of the monument held in  Lakitelek in Hungary upon  initiative of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev took place in the presence of the  Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly László Kövér, the Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Sándor Lezsák, the State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Hungary Talantbek Kushchubekov, the Deputy Executive Director of the Representative Office of the Organisation of Turkic States in Hungary Talaibek Kydyrov, officials of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, representatives of local institutions and organisations as well as  businessmen and Kyrgyz friendship groups.

 

At the  opening ceremony, which started with a minute of silence for the cherished memory of the recently deceased Ambassador and  Executive Director of the  Representation Office of the Organisation of Turkic States (CIS) in Hungary Prof. Dr. János Hóvári who was a strong advocate of Turkic culture and devoted his entire life to doing research thereon and promoting it worldwide, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev said: "The erection of the monument of the famous Manaschy Sayakbay in Hungary is a historical event. Indeed, this monument does not only stand as a testimony  of the respect towards the Kyrgyz people but is also yet another contribution to  Kyrgyz-Hungarian relations.

 

Stating that the idea of erecting this monument came up during a visit to the Lakitelek region and that it was the Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Sándor Lezsák who directly supported this idea together with the late Ambassador János Hóvári, Secretary General  Raev expressed his gratitude to the brotherly Hungarian people, government and authorities on this occasion and said:

 

“The famous Manaschy Sayakbay Karalaev, who wrote millions of lines in his heart and mind and spread the great Manas Epic to the world, came from the blue Issyk-kul, the homeland of the great mountains and the epic”.

 

Within the framework of the event, artists of the Kyrgyz Republic gave a short concert featuring folk melodies, hence, giving participants  the opportunity to closely watch their performance of Kyrgyz epic songs accompanied by  komuz players.
