Honorary Membership of the Authors' Union of Uzbekistan granted to Secretary General Raev

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev became Honorary Member of the Authors' Union of Uzbekistan

Within the framework of his working visit to Tashkent, Secretary General Raev met with authors, poets and senior figures of literature in  Uzbekistan on February 24th, 2023.

During the meeting, which was held upon the invitation of the Union of Authors of Uzbekistan and attended by well-known poets, writers and media representatives of Uzbekistan, the President of the Union of Authors of Uzbekistan Sirociddin Sayyid expressed his pleasure to meet with TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev. Mr. Sayyid who said that he strongly appreciates the work carried out by TURKSOY  further expressed his gratitude to Secretary General  Raev and handed over to him  the certificate of Honorary Member of the Authors' Union of Uzbekistan in recognition of his contribution to Uzbek literature.

Secretary General Sultan Raev who thanked the Authors' Union of Uzbekistan for its attention and interest further said: "Being an Honorary Member of the Authors' Union of Uzbekistan is a great honour for me, but at the same time it entails a serious responsibility. So help me God,  I will continue to work day and night for the literature of both Uzbek and the whole Turkic World in the future."

At the meeting, it was also stressed that ties between Uzbek and Kyrgyz literature are developing day by day, and that ideas are being exchanged regarding the agenda of the "Meeting of Uzbek-Kyrgyz Authors", which is planned to be held in Andijan, Uzbekistan in June this year.

During the meeting, participants also decided that the 100-volume work entitled "Literary Treasury of Turkic Peoples" and published in Uzbekistan shall be promoted in  all countries of the Turkic World.
