First meeting of the Authors' Union of TURKSOY
The 1st Meeting of the Union of Writers of TURKSOY was held on March 30th, 2023 in Nevai, Uzbekistan.
The meeting gathered the Secretary General of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Mr. Sultan Raev, the Governor of Nevai Mr. Normat Tursunov, the President of the Authors' Union of Uzbekistan Mr. Sirojiddin Sayyid, the President of the Authors' Union of TURKSOY, the President of the Authors' Union of Kazakhstan Mr. Ulugbek Esdaulet, the President of the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan and the Honorary Chairman of the Authors' Union of TURKSOY Mr. Anar Rzayev, the Vice President of the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan Mr. Selim Babullaoğlu, the President of the Authors' Union of Kyrgyzstan Mr. Nurlanbek Kalybekov, the President of the Authors' Union of Eurasia Mr. Yakup Ömeroğlu, the Vice President of the Authors' Union of Turkey Mr. Muhammet Enes Kala and the President of ILESAM Mr. Mehmet Nuri Parmaksız,.
In the opening speech he delivered at the meeting held in the building of the Governorate of Nevai, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev said: "The vision of TURKSOY is to shape the future of Turkic literature and to strengthen the connection between literatures of the Turkic world. I believe that as a bridge linking the past to the future, it is necessary to foster our literature all over the Turkic World. Our language is our greatest strength! Indeed, it is through our language that we transmit our culture and history from one generation to the next."
Mr. Raev further who noted that TURKSOY issues various publications in Turkic languages such as Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Azerbaijani and Uzbek and contributes to their promotion in the Turkic World also stressed that: “In line with our commitment to the maxim by the great philosopher of the Turkic World Ismail Gaspıralı whose ideal was ”Unity in language, actions and ideas" we invite our authors to events we organize every year. Indeed, we are convinced that this will help foster and strengthen unity and solidarity in the Turkic world through our language and literature and also make it possible for our unity to be concretely felt in other fields."
Secretary General Raev further added:
"With the establishment of the Authors' Union of TURKSOY, literature will move forward in the Turkic World. We will have more activities, we will get to know each other better. Today, we will establish the Executive Committee of the Authors' Union of TURKSOY upon suggestions of our esteemed Presidents. We will exchange ideas for activities to be carried out and determine our annual literary activities. Every idea, every step is of key importance for the Turkic World. Our unity is our strength. It is our future."
The Governor of Nevai Mr. Normat Tursunov said: "We are extremely honoured that such festivals and meetings, which will serve to further strengthen the friendship and literary ties between our brotherly peoples, are being held in our city. Your visit to our city is the first but not the last. We are very happy to welcome such distinguished figures of the Turkic World as you." and offered a traditional Uzbek “chapan” to all participants.
Issues discussed in the meeting pertained to activities to be carried out by the Authors' Union of TURKSOY in 2023-2024, the election of the Executive Committee of the Union and the date and venue of its next meeting.
"Order of Honour of TURKSOY" handed over to the famous Azerbaijani author Anar Rzayev
A celebration ceremony was held on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the birth of the famous writer Anar Rzayev, one of the pioneers of contemporary Azerbaijani literature.
Anar Rzayev, who played a pioneer role in the establishment of the Authors' Union of TURKSOY, received the Order of Honour of TURKSOY which was handed over to him by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev in recognition of his contribution to literature in the Turkic World.
Mr. Anar Rzayev also received the "Certificate and Medal of Honorary Membership of the Authors' Union of Kazakhstan" from the President of the Authors' Union of Kazakhstan Ulugbek Esdaulet, the "Special Medal of the Authors' Union of Kyrgyzstan" from the President of the Authors' Union of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Kalybekov, the "Certificate of Honorary Membership of the Authors' Union of Uzbekistan" from the President of the Authors' Union of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Sayyid and was handed over special gifts and souvenirs by President of the Authors' Union of Eurasia Yakup Ömeroğlu and by the Vice President of the Authors' Union of Turkey Mr. Muhammet Enes Kala.
Order of Friendship of Uzbekistan handed over to Anar Rzayev
The President of the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan Mr. Anar Rzayev received the Order of Friendship upon decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In the award ceremony held at the International "Mumtaz Poetry Festival" and the First Meeting of the Authors' Union of TURKSOY, Mr. Anar Rzayev the Honorary President of the Authors' Union of TURKSOY and President of the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan was handed over the Order of Friendship of Uzbekistan awarded to him upon decree by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Mr. Rzayev received the "Order of Friendship' in recognition of his precious contribution to literature in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of his birthday. Mr. Rzayev was handed over the Order of Friendship by Mr. Hayriddin Sultanov, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan.
In the speech he delivered at the award ceremony Mr. Sultanov said: "The fact that Anar muallim was awarded the Order of Friendship" is an indicator of the importance attached to the literature of kindred peoples in Uzbekistan, who share the same roots, the same language, the same culture and who have been inspired by each other ever since throughout history, who complement each other, who are side by side in joy and sorrow, who fascinate the world with a thousand and one traditions and customs."
In the statement he delivered to journalists, Mr. Rzayev said: "Today I have experienced a very beautiful day in my life. Therefore, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Uzbek people as well as to the President of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, thanks to whom I have been awarded the "Order of Friendship" of Uzbekistan. This is a great honour and great pride for me. I am very happy that the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, has changed and developed incredibly, and it is also a great pleasure for me to see that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attaches great importance to literature. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are always side by side in good times and bad times, our presidents are friends, brothers, our peoples have been one and united since ancient times and I do hope that this will remain so forever. Literature is a cultural bridge which brings peoples closer together. Indeed, peoples get to know each other through literature. Therefore, such events are and will be of key importance in bringing our peoples closer together as our respective literature will help us get acquainted with eachother."
