First Consultative Meeting on Petroglyphs of the Turkic World held in Bishkek

Within the framework of the  International Project of TURKSOY on  ‘Petroglyphs of the Turkic World’ initiated by the Secretary General of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture Sultan Raev, the First Consultative Meeting was held in Bishkek on 14 April 2024.

The event was chaired by Sultan Raev in the Kassym Tınıstanov Conference Hall in the rectorate building of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and was attended by Dr. Ahan Ongaruli, the Director General of the A.H. Margulan Archaeological Institute of the Education Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dr. B. B. Dzhan Ongaruli, the Director General of the A.H. Margulan Archaeological Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. Prof. Dr. Abilabek Asankanov, the Director of the B. Camgerchinov Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, KC UBA Member Prof. Dr. Kadicha Tashbaeva, the Head of the Department of TAEE Archaeology of the KC UBA and the delegation of TURKSOY  headed by its Secretary General Sultan Raev accompanied by Dr. Timur B. Davletov, the  Expert of TURKSOY  for Siberia and and Mr. Sabirbek Börübay, the  Chief of Staff of  TURKSOY Secretary General.

Participants of the First Consultative Meeting agreed on the conditions for the completion of the preparatory work as well as  on a common vision for the publication of scrapbooks within the series ‘Petroglyphs of the Turkic World’, identified the international and local editorial boards and announced the authors of the respective volumes from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.  

The First Consultative Meeting also featured the signature ceremonies of the Memorandum of Understanding and Supplementary Agreement between TURKSOY and the A.H. Margulan Archaeological Institute of the Educational Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and of the Memorandum of Understanding and Supplementary Agreement between TURKSOY and the B. Jamarchinov Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
