Farewell visit of H. E. Mr. Birol Akgün to TURKSOY Secretary General Raev

Upon his appointment as  Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Baku, H. E. Mr.  Birol Akgün,  paid a farewell visit to TURKSOY Secretary General Raev.

Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, who served as the President of the Maarif Foundation of Türkiye for 8.5 years and was appointed as Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Baku on  January 10th, 2025, paid a farewell visit to TURKSOY and met with Secretary General Sultan Raev and Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf.

In  the meeting which took place during the visit, Ambassador Birol Akgün received the Medal of Honour of TURKSOY in recognition of his  contribution to the strengthening of ties with the Maarif Foundation as well as of joint activities  carried out during his term in office. 

Expressing his gratitude  and handing over the Medal of Honour of TURKSOY to Ambassador Birol Akgün, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev stressed that the  cooperation of TURKSOY with H. E. Mr. Birol Akgün will continue throughout his new term in office  and wished him success in his new function as Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Baku.
