Exhibition held in TURKSOY Headquarters: "The Caravan of Time"

The exhibition featuring  53 paintings  by  Serik Yermekov depicting beautiful sites, nature, steppe life and food culture of Kazakhstan which will be open to visitors between July 14th-21st,   gathered a large audience.

In the speech he delivered at the opening of the exhibition, TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf said: "In these paintings we see the Kazakh attitude, history and works. We see live impressions of the country's landscapes and culture. While watching, we are not only watching Kazakhstan; we also see ourselves. We remember our common history, our space, our own past. I would like to thank the artist for using these beauties and sharing them with us. TURKSOY is our common organisation and an institution where we will raise and promote the cultural values of the Turkic World together. We will show the world that  Turkic civilization is the ancestor of all civilisations and that without the contribution made by Turkic peoples to those civilisations, none of them would have been able to enter history."

Following Deputy Secretary General Yusuf, the floor was taken by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ankara Yerkebulan Sapiyev who  said: "We are delighted to be in Ankara, the heart of this beautiful Anatolia and in the most beautiful neighbourhood of this beautiful city, our home TURKSOY. First of all, I would like to thank you for not leaving us alone. This is our home. It is the place that hosts our artists and other friends from Kazakhstan. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who have contributed and to this exhibition along with  TURKSOY staff members. Mr Yermekov is a well-known figure in Kazakhstan and he wanted to open an exhibition in our kindred country Turkey. Everyone who comes here is very valuable for the Turkic World. The quality of his works is very high, he reflected the Kazakh culture and the value of the Kazakh plain to us with this beautiful exhibition. We are very happy to see this interest and love."

Followiing his speech, Ambassador Sapiyev presented a certificate of appreciation to staff members of TURKSOY  for their contribution to events  carried out in cooperation of TURKSOY with the Republic of  Kazakhstan and  dedicated to the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY.

The painter Serik Yermekov who also delivered a speech said: "It is an honour for me to be here under this roof in Ankara on the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY. I had previously exhibited my works in South Korea and France, but this year I wanted to exhibit them here in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey and the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY. I would like to thank our kindred  people of Türkiye for their interest in the paintings depicting the Kazakh steppes." Mr. Yermekov also expressed his gratitude to TURKSOY and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ankara for enabling his works to reach out to  art lovers in Turkey.
