Exhibition and Award Ceremony of Artists of the Academy of Art of the Turkic World held in Baku

The exhibition and award ceremony of artists of the Academy of Art of the Turkic World was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan on March 13th, 2026. The event which served as a continuation of the programme held in Istanbul last year, brought together artists and intellectuals from the Turkic World.

The event was attended by Mr. Murat Hüseynov, the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of TURKSOY, Mr. Sakit Mammadov and the President of the Academy of Art of the Turkic World along with many guests.

The opening speeches were delivered by Mr. Murat Hüseynov, the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of TURKSOY, Mr. Sakit Mammadov and the President of the Academy of Art of the Turkic World.

In his speech, Secretary General Raev stated: “The Exhibition and Award Ceremony of the artists of the Academy of Art of the Turkic World we are holding today in Baku, the ancient capital of Azerbaijan, is a significant cultural gathering aimed at making the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic World visible through art. 

The first of these meaningful events began with an exhibition dedicated to the memory of the great author of the Turkic World, Chingis Aitmatov, and brought together artists from different regions of the Turkic World under a shared aesthetic vision. The fact that this valuable cultural initiative has been undertaken with the support of TURKSOY from its very inception is a source of particular pride for us. We are delighted that such a meaningful event is being held in Baku today as it is one of the key cultural centres of the Turkic World”.

The painters participating in the exhibition were awarded the Medal of the Academy of Painters of the Turkic World in recognition of their contribution to the promotion of the cultural and artistic values of Turkic peoples.

A selection of works by successful painters representing Turkic peoples has been presented to art lovers.

The exhibition of artists of the Academy of Art of the Turkic World will be open to visitors at the Art Gallery of the Turkic World from  13th to – March 17th, 2026.
