Condolence message of Secretary General Raev for the passing of Prof. Dr. Zeynep Korkmaz

It is with deep sorrow that we have been informed about the passing of Prof. Dr. Zeynep Korkmaz, a  distinguished scholar of Turkology. With her studies revealing the history, development and richness of Turkish language, she made great contributions to Turkology, and played a pioneer role in the development of research in the field of Turkish culture and science.

Prof. Dr. Zeynep Korkmaz who was  one of the most important living researchers working in the field of Turkish language, has shed light on the common cultural heritage of the Turkic World with her studies to understand the roots and evolution of Turkish. Her academic legacy will continue to guide future generations in their commitment to research on Turkish language.

On this sad day, we would like to express our condolences to the world of Turkology, especially to her family, and to all her loved ones, and wish her soul to rest in peace. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Korkmaz's name and works will always be remembered in the preservation of Turkish language and culture.
