Condolence message of Secretary General Raev for the passing away of the Kazak author Dulat Isabekov

It is with deep sadness that we learned about the passing of Dulat Isabekov, a distinguished representative of Kazakh literature and theatre, a great writer and playwright. Dulat Isabekov stands as symbol of  an entire era of Kazakh literature. 

His name will be remembered as that of a great personality, the great spirit of our time. Great artists shed light not only on their time, but also on future generations. The works of Dulat Isabekov will guide the next generations and continue to enrich their spiritual world.
 

The last time I saw Dulat was on his 90th birthday at the Authors' Union of Kazakhstan where I greeted him with a handshake. I also remember watching his play “Gauhartas” and appreciating him. His art, words and works will always be at the peak of the spirituality of our nation.
 

We are deeply saddened by the passing of  our brother Dulat, a notable author of Kazakh literature and valuable figure of Kazakh culture whose legacy and works will never be lost by any means. Dulat Isabekov was a great master who touched the human soul with his words and was a mirror of society. His words reflected the feelings and thoughts of his people in the simplest, yet, most striking way.
 

Dulat Isabekov will be remembered forever through his invaluable contributions to the spirituality of the Turkic World. His passing is a great loss for us.  His legacy will live on with his great words and works and we will always remember his name  with great respect and gratitude.
 

I express my deepest condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Dulat Isabekov, who left behind a unique legacy of literature  to the Turkic world. May his soul rest in peace.
