Commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the birthday of Sydyk Alaychiyev
Events were held at the State Pedagogical University of Osh and in the 87th high school in Osh to commemorate the famous Kyrgyz folk poet and pedagogue Sydyk Alaychiyev. Commemorative events were held in the presence of many institutions from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan as well as of the representative of the General Secretariat of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), which attaches particular importance to the preservation of the legacy of illustrious personalities who contributed to the enrichment of the common culture of the Turkic World. Commemorative events featured an international conference, a documentary film, a photography exhibition, a theatre performance and a concert of traditional music prepared by students.
About 80 scientists and researchers took part in the conference held under the motto ‘The Essence of Education’. At the opening ceremony of the conference, Bekmurza Ergeşov, the MP of the Kyrgyz Republic Jogorku Kenesh, Professor Salavat Sagitov, the Rector of the Bashkir State Pedagogical University, Janbolot Tursunbayev, the Rector of the Osh Technical University, Mukhtar Karybay, the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Osh, Daniyar Sıdıkov and the grandson of Sydyk Alaychiyev delivered opening speeches.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Kanat Mambetaliev, the representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to TURKSOY, conveyed the greetings and congratulations of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev to the participants of the conference. In the speech he delivered, Mr. Mambetaliev stressed the great role of Sydyk Alaychiyev as a folk singer and teacher in the education of the people and more particularly of children and young people, and recalled that the great folk singer Toktogul Satylganov honoured Alaychiev with two historical titles.
Mr. Mambetaliev further noted that Alaychiev who is known as ‘The Singing Boy’ and ‘People's Poet’, had a unique talent which entered history. At the ceremony, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev handed over medals of TURKSOY to Daniyar Siddiqov and to the Rector of the State Pedagogical University of Osh Mr. Bekmurza Zuluyev. At the ceremony, commemorative plaquette of TURKSOY was presented to the State Pedagogical University of Osh.
The event went on at the school named after Sydyk Alaychiyev, where a monument in memory of Alaychiev was unveiled.
