Closing ceremony of the 9th International Theater Festival of Central Asian Countries in Shymkent
The 9th International Theatre Festival of Central Asian Countries was held at theTulip Hall Congress Centre in Shymkent.
Within the scope of the festival where many theatres from different regions of the Turkic World took the scene, guest theatres from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Karakalpakstan, Tatarstan, Uzbekistan and Türkiye met with art lovers from Shymkent.
At the closing ceremony held with the participation of the Governorate of Shymkent and the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev handed over medals to theatre artists and the jury chaired by the famous Kazakh theatre artist and actor Asnali Ashimov awarded various prizes to participating theatres in different categories.
In his message read out by the representative of TURKSOY at the closing ceremony, Secretary General Sultan Raev expressed his gratitude to the Muhtar Avezov Theatre, the Jumat Shanin Theatre, the Governorate of Shymkent and the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan for their participation in the organisation of the festival and underlined the importance of such festivals for the development of the art of theatre in the Turkic World.
In the continuation of his message, Secretary General Raev also underlined that TURKSOY is the heart and blessed home of the culture and art of the Turkic World and said: ‘TURKSOY will always be involved in and support such cultural activities. Today, our art of theatre is in a position to compete with the world. As can be seen in this festival, art lovers of the Turkic World ensure that theater plays are performed in front of sold-out audiences. For the continuation of this process, it is necessary to bring theatres of the Turkic World together not only with each other but also with their audience as well as with cities. Festivals are precisely precious opportunities serving this purpose.’
Within the framework of the festival, the ‘Best Actor’ award went to Bazarbay Nazarimbetov for his role as an old man in the play ‘Duck of Louvre’ performed by the Berdak Karakalpak National Academic Musical Theatre.
The ‘Best actress’ award went to Baktygul Asanova from the State “Flying” Youth Theatre of Kyrgyzstan for her performance of the role of the mother in the play “Face to Face”.
The ‘Best supporting actor‘ award was won by Marat Habibullin from the Gabdulla Tukay Tatar State Drama Theatre for his performance of the the role of the father in the play “Spring under the snow”.
Sevinch Kurbanova from the State “Diydor” Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan won the “Best supporting actress” award for her performance of the role of Ayhan in the play “Clowns” Game’.
While the ‘Best male character’ award went to Fırat Onur Deniz for the role of the Old Man in the play “The Old Man and the Sea” performed by the Alanya City Theatre; the “Best female character” award went to Möldir Ziyaeva from the Jumat Shanin Shymkent City Academic Kazakh Drama Theatre for her performance of the role of Canbike in the play “Bloody Century”.
The Special Prize of the Governorate of Shymkent was awarded to the artist of the Azerbaijani theatre Shevki Huseynov.
‘The Best Cast Award" went to Gabit Musirepov for the play ‘ULPAN’ performed by the Kazakh State Academic Children's and Youth Theatre.
Mr. Shamil Diykanbaev won the ‘Best director’ award for the play “Face to Face” performed by the Kyrgyz State “Flying” Youth Theatre.
The ‘Best play’ awar which is the most prestigious award of the festival went to the play ‘Leyla and Majnun’ performed by the Musical Drama Theatre of Samarkand.
At the closing ceremony of the festival, medals and certificates of appreciation especially sent by Secretary General Raev were handed over to the winners by the representative of TURKSOY
.
The ceremony ended with a concert featuring a colourful performances by Kazakh artists.
