Azerbaijani winners of TURKSOY's painting and essay competition received their awards

The Azerbaijani winners of the painting and essay competitions organised by TURKSOY among secondary school students of TURKSOY member countries in 2024 to introduce the common values and cultural heritage of the Turkic World to the younger generation received their awards in an event held in Baku.

 

The award ceremony for the winners of the competitions was held at the Children's Art School named after Vagif Mustafazade in Baku. Before the award ceremony, the participants of the event examined the exhibited works of the young artists who took part in the competition.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev emphasised that they attach special importance to young people who will shape the future of the Turkic World and noted that such projects aim to increase the interest of young people in national values and art.

 

Secretary General Raev who noted that TURKSOY declared the city of Anev in Turkmenistan as the ‘Cultural Capital of the Turkic World’ for 2024 and organised special events on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birthday of the great Turkmen poet Magtumguly Fragi  also added that the competitions held among students from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Türkiye play an important role in revealing the creative potential of young people and passing on national values to future generations.

 

TURKSOY Secretary General further said that the compositions on the ‘Poet and Philosopher Magtumguly Fragi’ and the painting competition on the theme ‘The Turkic World and Turkmenistan through the Eyes of Young Artists’ contribute to the unity of the Turkic World as well as to the interest of young people in the cultural heritage thereof.

Head of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Baku Ibrahim Aliyev said that this is the second year that TURKSOY has organised competitions for young artists and added that this year's event was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birthday of the great philosopher and poet of the East, Magtumguly Fragi.

 

Mr. Ibrahim Aliyev emphasised that the event makes a significant contribution to educating the younger generation in the national spirit and deeper adoption of our national values. He also noted that such events are of great importance in terms of strengthening the unity between the Turkic States and preserving their national heritage.

Before the award ceremony, students gave a concert.

 

At the end of the event, winners of the painting and essay competitions organised among students of TURKSOY member countries received their certificates of appreciation along with souvenirs
