Ancestral Art in Harmony with the Steppe: Masters from the Turkic World crafted works made of felt together in Aktau.

Within the framework of the international festival held in Aktau under the motto ‘Ancestral Art in Harmony with the Steppe,’ master craftsmen from the Turkic World came together in the city's coastal area and carried out a joint felt-making workshop. The event was organised on the occasion of the declaration of Aktau as Cultural  Capital of the Turkic World 2025.

A total of 45 artists, including 15 foreign and 30 Kazak artists, participated in the felt-making workshop.

Felt in the Turkic World:

Felt is not merely a household item; it is a timeless work of art which reflects the soul, traditions, and essence of every people. Items displayed here today and resulting from the cooperation of participating artists symbolise the unity and brotherhood of Turkic peoples, as well as their shared history and culture.

As participating craftsmen demonstrated the way they work, visitors who attended the event had the opportunity to witness all stages of the process of felt-making at first hand and followed up this joint production process with great interest.
