A delegation from TURKSOY and the Chingis Aitmatov Institute was welcomed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu in hs office

Prior to the forum on ‘Chingis Aitmatov and the Future of the Turkic World’ to be held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, a high-level delegation from TURKSOY and the Chingis Aitmatov Institute was welcomed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu  in his office. 

The delegation participating in the forum to be held in cooperation with TURKSOY and the Chingis Aitmatov Institute was composed of Prof. Dr. Ilyas Topsakal, the President of the Chingis Aitmatov Institute and MP from Samsun, Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of TURKSOY; Prof. Dr. Akmal Saidov, MP of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Member of the United Nations Human Rights Committee, Dr. Akmal Saidov, and Dr. Sakit Mammadov, People's Painter of Azerbaijan.

The forum is being organised with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the Presidency of Turks Abroad (YTB) and the Yunus Emre Institute.

Issues discussed in the meeting which took place in a warm atmosphere pertained to the  preservation of  the common cultural heritage of the Turkic world, the transmission of Chingis Aitmatov's legacy to younger generations and concrete steps which can be taken in this respect.
