743th Yuruk Festival and Commemoration of the Martyr Ertuğrul Gazi in Söğüt
TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf attended the 743th Commemoration of the Martyr Ertuğrul Gazi held and Yuruk Festival hosted by the Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz and the Governor of Bilecik Şefik Aygöl in the district of Söğüt in Bilecik.
The last day of the 743th Commemoration of the Martyr Ertuğrul Gazi held and Yuruk Festival started with the welcoming of protocol members by the Bravemen in front of the tomb of Martyr Ertuğrul Gazi and a minute of silence followed by the changing of the guards and the National Anthem.
The event went on with protocol speeches and colourful performances of folklore as well as of the Janissary Band, the Gendarmerie General Command Band, the Bacı Beyler Girls' Sword and Shield Team and the Seğmenler Association of Ayaş and the “Steel Wings” Cortege of the Gendarmerie General Command were welcomed with enthusiastic applause by citizens filling the Stadium in Söğüt.
The event ended with the parade of Yuruk associations and NGOs of Turkic communities coming from all over Türkiye.
After the parade, TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf visited the tents set up around the tomb of Martyr Ertuğrul Gazi and met with the officials of the associations.
At the end of the ceremonies, traditional pilaf rice flavoured with medicinal herbs was offered to all participants.
