Presentation of the book entitled "The Anthology of Contemporary Kazak Poetry" in TURKSOY Headquarters
"The Anthology of Contemporary Kazak Poetry" featuring selected works by famous authors of contemprary Kazak poetry was presented in a meeting held in the Headquarters of TURKSOY which makes unique contributions to the literature hertitage of Turkic peoples with publications it prepares, issues or contributes to.
The meeting hosted by the Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilal Çakıcı gathered the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ankara H. E. Abzal Saparbekuli and the Chairman of the Eurasian Authors' Union Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yakup Ömeroğlu along with authors, poets and guests from Kazakhstan and Turkey.
In the speech he delivered at the event, Deputy Secretary General Çakıcı congratulated Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its independence and paid tribute to authors, poets and intellectuals of Kazakhstan who contributed to the independence of Kazakhstan with their works.
Deputy Secretary General Çakıcı who also stressed that TURKSOY attaches particular importance to the preservation of the legacy left behind by illustrious personalities of the Turkic World and their contribution to the enrichment of the literature of the Turkic World added that the "The Anthology of Contemporary Kazak Poetry" features works by the new generation of poets who were inspired by these pioneers of the Turkic World. Mr. Çakıcı added: “Throughout history, Kazakhstan has been a center of inspiration in terms of culture, art, literature, science and research. As such, it has made unique contributions to the education of great authors who marked the history of our civilization with their works of literature. Kazak literature is extremely rich and varied. Indeed, Kazak intellectuals succeeded in keeping "national identity" alive in the entire Turkic World even in the Soviet Era.”
Ambassador Saparbekuli and the Chairman of the Eurasian Authors' Union Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yakup Ömeroğlu who also delivered a speech at the event touched upon the evolution of Kazak literature throughout the 30 years elapsed since its independence and stressed the importance of this publication entitled "The Anthology of Contemporary Kazak Poetry".
The event ended with a short concert featuring performances by Kazak artists.
