Cultural, Artistic and Photography Exhibition on Turkmenistan held with the contribution of TURKSOY

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan a Cultural, Artistic and Photography Exhibition on Turkmenistan was held in Ankara in cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ankara and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).

The opening ceremony held in the National Library of the Republic of Turkey gathered the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Çam, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ankara Ishankuly Amanliyev, the Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Bilal Çakıcı, the Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Sultan Raev, the Director General of the Ministry of National Education in Charge of European Union and International  Relations Burcu Eyisoy Dalkıran and Ambassadors of various countries ın Ankara along with representatives of various institutions and organizations as well as many guests.

In the speech he delivered at the opening of the exhibition, Deputy Minister  Serdar Çam said that the exhibition stands as a testimony of the fact that Turkey, Central Asia and Turkmenistan are one big family and added that: "We wish these strong ties of mutual friendship to last forever. In this respect, I should say that if we want these ties to be eternal, we must work hand in hand in solidarity with eachother." 

Deputy Minister Çam further expressed the appreciation of his ministry regarding activities carried out by  Turkmenistan as a founding member state of  TURKSOY.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ankara Ishankuly Amanliyev, who also delivered a speech at the inaugural ceremony said that culture and art hold a prominent place in the foreign policy of his country  and added that: "Our people has a rich cultural heritage with cultural values of its own. Today we are reformulating these cultural heritage and values so as to introduce them to the modern world. Culture has played a key role in our development process  and as such it responds to the requirements of the new era while offering a strong potential for Turkmenistan in terms of its democratic, social and economic development."

Ambassador Amanliyev who also said that “Today, culture which bis being considered as an integrative source of inspiration  in social terms is also regtarded as the very embodiment of spiritual and aesthetic values, the basis of democratic and social transformation processes and a key source of development of the nation and country.”  added that in this respect Turkmenistan therefore fruitfully works in close cooperation with major international organizations such as the United Nations, UNESCO and TURKSOY.

In his speech, the Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilal Çakıcı said that it was a great source of joy and pride for his organization that one of the many events carried out by TURKSOY to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the independence of Turkic republics since the beginning of the year was hosted by the Embassy of  Turkmenistan.

Deputy Secretary General Çakıcı who also expressed his wish as to the fruitful continuation of such events and other similar activities aimed at the preservation of the culture and art of the Turkic World throughout the the 30th anniversary of the independence of Turkic republics in TURKSOY member countries as well as both on national and international level  added that: “Today, we will once again be sharing the joy and enthusiasm of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan with you with this exhibition of  photographs by senior photographers of the Turkic World. We hope that you will appreciate this exhibition giving an insight into the natural landscapes of Turkmenistan, its history and architecture as well as its culture, art and people.”

The speeches were followed by the opening of the exhibition featuring photographs and paintings by Turkmen artists along with traditional Turkmen garments and various artefacts of Turkmen culture.
