International Rudina Fest Folklore Festival held in Gostivar with the support of TURKSOY
The International Rudina Fest Folklore Festival organized by the Jahi Hasani Folk Dance Association was held in Gostivar with the support of TURKSOY on July 21st-23rd, 2021.
The festival which aims at the preservation and promotion of the common folklore of peoples of the Balkans as well as at fostering their mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences in the fields of musicology and traditional music took place in Gostivar with the contribution of folk dance ensembles from Turkey, North Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The festival which lasted three days with events held in various venues gave the opportunity to more than 200 artists to introduce the cultural and artistic heritage of their respective countries with colourful folklore performances which were strongly appreciated by the audience. The festival which took place for the first time in Gostivar was followed-up with great enthusiasm and interest by its people.
On the first day of the festival inaugurated by the Deputy Minister of Culture of North Macedonia Sedat Süleymani, performances took place in the region of Rudina, which the festival is named after.
In the speech he delivered at the opening of the festival, the Head of the Organizing Committee of the latter Zani Memedi expressed his gratitude to TURKSOY for its valuable support and thanked the artists and folk dance ensembles for their precious contribution to the promotion of the cultural and artistic heritage of the Balkans in Gostivar.
At the closing event of the festival, Mr. Fatih Aliyi from TURKSOY and representatives of local institutions on North Macedonia greeted the audience in the City Park of Gostivar.
