Information Meeting on “The Silkroad Rallye from the Danube River to the Orkhun Valley”
The meeting organized in cooperation of TURKSOY with "The East West Association of Friendship and Peace Rallye" featured contributions of representatives of related institutions and organizations as well as of embassies of countries located on the route of the Silkroad.
In the opening speech he delivered at the online meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. Mete Düren, TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilal Çakıcı said that the "Silkroad Rally from the Danube River to the Orkhun Valley" organized by the "East West Association of Friendship and Peace Rallye" in coordination with TURKSOY will take place in the second half of the year 2022 and start in Germany to reach out to the Orkhun Monuments in Mongolia with a route going through Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Deputy Secretary General Çakıcı who said that the aim of this project is to contribute to the rapprochement of cultures and get acquainted with countries on the route of the rallye further added: "The next edition of the East West Friendship Rallye which has been carried out many times in previous years will be covering TURKSOY member countries and its route will be determined taking into account Cultural Capitals of the Turkic World. This will of course be a major opportunity in terms of the promotion of our coutries and cities. I would like to particularly stress that this project will stress the long dating friendship among countries located on the route of the rallye while also emphasizing the ties of brotherhood among our member countries. Furthermore, it will also help raise awareness regarding the beautiful nature and historical heritage of these countries while introducing their social and cultural values as well as their traditions and customs in events carried out in venues to be determined on the route of the rallye."
The online information meeting featured contributions by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Faruk Kaymakcı, the Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Sultan Rayev, the Deputy Director General of the Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey for Pormotion Onur Gözet, the Head of Department of Foreign Relations and Cooperation of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency TIKA Uğur Tanyeli, the Head of Department of Cultural and Social Relations of the Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Murat Kazancı, the Director of the Yunus Emre Institute for Turkish Teaching and Turcology Prof. Dr. Yavuz Kartallıoğlu, the Advisor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey for Press and Information Zerrin Keskin and the Chairman of the East West Association of Friendship and Peace Rallye Nadir Serin.
