Visit of Deputy Secretary General Çakıcı to the Embassy of Kosovo
The Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilal Çakıcı visited the Embassy of Kosovo in Ankara. During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çakıcı who met with the Ambassador of Kosovo to Ankara H. E. Ilir Dugolli and the Undersecretary of the Embassy Mrs. Gülşen Bölükbaşı was accompanied by the Project Coordinator of TURKSOY for the Balkans Mr. Fatih Aliyi.
The Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Mr. Çakıcı informed Ambassador Dugolli about activities carried out in joint cooperation of TURKSOY with the Republic of Kosovo and stressed that mutual ties between them will be further strengthened and brought up to a higher level through a greater number of mutual cooperation activities to be carried out from now on.
Visit of Gratitude not Farewell
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çakıcı who extended a plaquette of TURKSOY to Mrs. Bölükbaşı on the occasion of the ending of her term in office following activities she had been carrying out as Undersecretary of the Embassy of Kosovo in Ankara since 2016 stressed that this visit is not a farewell visit but a visit of gratitude. Mr. Çakıcı went on saying: “As your term in office in Ankara comes to a end, we are bidding you farewell to Pristina as a very precious member of the big family of TURKSOY. I am strongly convinced that as a member of our family, you will further continue carrying out major activities in Pristina regarding the promotion of Turkic culture and art in the Balkans”.
Deputy Secretary General Çakıcı who further stressed that both Pristina and Prizren are very important cities refered to the following words by Âşık Çelebi: “People say that if a boy is born in Pristina he is born with a dip pen on his waist. If a boy is born in Prizren, he is given his pen name before his real name.” Mr. Çakıcı went on saying: “On this occasion, let me extend my gratitude to Mrs. Gülşen Bölükbaşı on behalf of TURKSOY for her efforts and strong contribution to high-level activities carried out in cooperation of our organization with the Republic of Kosovo and wish her further success in her diplomatic career.”
