Kadriya Temirbulatova was commemorated in TURKSOY Headquarters
A book of poems by the famous Nogai poetess Kadriya Temirbulatova who passed away at a young age and was one of the most remarkable authors of the Nogai people was presented at a conference held in TURKSOY Headquarters in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of her birthday.
The event featuring the presentation of the book entitled “I am The Epic Legend of Brave Men” featuring poems by Temirbulatova published in 12 languages was hosted by TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov and gathered the Director of Cultural Affairs of the Nogai Region of the Republic of Dagestan (R.F.) Mrs. Sabirat Abubekirova, the State Artist of the Republic of Dagestan (R.F.) and State Artist Ord. Prof. Koşali Zarmanbetov, the Chairman of the Eurasian Authors’ Union Dr.Yakup Ömeroğlu, the famous Nogai minstrel Alibiy Romanov and poets from various regions of the Turkic World who translated Kadriya’s poems, namely, Barış Cavit Movsümlü from Azerbaijan, Marjan Erşu from Kazakhstan, Altınay Temirova from Kyrgyzstan, Marina Ahmedova-Kolyubakina from Russia, Larisa Abdulina from Bashkortostan (RF) and Sema Tanrıverdioğlu from Turkey along with authors and artists of the Turkic World.
In the opening speech he delievered at the event, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov said that, said that thanks to their great cultural heritage, Turkic peoples have strongly contributed to the creation and enrichment of ancient culture with the legacy left behind by illustrious personalities.
Mr. Kasseinov who said that these personalities who are considered as the cornerstones of our culture have shown the way to the people with the scientific, cultural and spiritual legacy they left behind further added: “The famous Nogai poetess Kadriya Temirbulatova is undoubdtedly one these illustrious personalities. Her poems which she wrote in her mother tongue mainly deal with notions of love, homeland, mother, the steppe, the Nogai people and the Nogai region. Her poems are characterized by an extremely fluent style which literally enchant their readers with the sound of Nogai melodies from endless steppes. Hence, it is no coincidence that her poems have inspired many artists to compose songs based on them which are still being sung by many despite the time which has elapsed since their composition. With her poems, Kadriya Temirbulatova and her legacy live forever. This legendary poet of the Nogai people who died a horrible death at a young age has strongly contributed to the enrichment of Nogai literature."
Mrs. Sabirat Abubekirova who also delivered a speech said that Temirbulatova has left a a rich cultural heritage behind her although she lived a short life and that she made her people known to the world through her poems. Mrs. Abubekirova further stressed the importance of the fact that major events are held by TURKSOY to introduce the legacy of Kadriya Temirbulatova to young generations and to commemorate her o the 70th anniversary of her birthday and that, as part of these activities, a Street in Yalova, Çiftlikköy was named after her to immortalize the this poetess considered as the “Morning Star” of the Nogai people.
At the end of her speech, Mrs. Abubekirova extended the certificate of appreciation of the Governor of the Nogai Region Muhtarbiy Adjekov and a medal dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birthday of Kadriye Temirbulatova to Dusen Kasseinov.
Ord. Prof. Koşali Zarmanbetov who also delivered a speech at the event expressed his gratitude to TURKSOY for organizing this commemorative event dedicated to Nogai artists and offered a painting he made in memory of Kadriya Temirbulatova to Mr. Kasseinov.
The event also featured the reading of messages conveyed by the great Kazak author of the Turkic World Olcas Suleymenov and the Chairman of the Authors’ Union of Azerbaijan Anar Rzayev as well as the presentation of a book featuring the translation of Temirbulatova’s poems into 12 languages and published in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the birthday of Kadriya Temirbulatova.
Mr. Barış Cavit Movsümlü, Mrs. Marjan Erşu, Mrs. Altynai Temirova, Mrs. Marina Ahmedova-Kolyubakina, Mrs. Larisa Abdulina and Mrs. Sema Tanrıverdioğlu who translated Kadriya Temirbulatova’s poems each recited one poem by the famous Nogai poetess.
The event ended with artistic performances of the Nogai minstrel Alibiy Romanov who sang Nogai folk songs and of Zehra Engin and Merve Yılmaz who performed a traditional Nogai dance.
