The Kyrgyz author Chingis Aitmatov was commemorated in Japan

The tour of the Orchestra of Folk Instruments of TURKSOY featuring national instruments of TURKSOY member countries together with famous soloists of the Turkic World went on with a special event on November 16th, 2018.

Within the framework of the tour, TURKSOY paid tribute to pioneers of the Turkic World in line with its declaration of the year 2018 as Year of Gara Garayev and Chingis Aitmatov.

While on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birthday of Gara Garayev, the orchestra included Garayev's composition entitled "Girls' Dance" in its repertoire, the performance of artists of the Turkic World held in the Aksaka Concert Hall in Tokyo on November 16th, 2018 was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birthday of Chingis Aitmatov

The event which started with a short film on the life and work of Chingis Aitmatov went on with  welcoming speeches of the former Minister of Culture of Kyrgyzstan Sultan Rayev, the Secretary General of the Turkic Council  Bagdat Amrayev, Sei Matsushita fromthe Tsukuba University and the Representative of Kyrgyzstan to  TURKSOY Kojogeldi Kuluyev. 

The Orchestra of Folk Instruments of TURKSOY who took the scene following the opening speeches performed for approximately 90 minutes and rasied great enthusiasm among the audience. 

At the end of the concert, Japanese spectators gave standing ovations to the artists who remained on stage for a while.

Special guests of the event were then invited to come on stage and received the Plate of TURKSOY dedicated to its 25th anniversary and the Art Album entitled "Reading Chingis Aitmatov" which were handed over to them by TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov.

The above mentioned album which was published upon initiative of Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov  features paintings by artists of the Turkic World based on their inspiration from Chingis Aitmatov's books such as  "When Mountains Collapse" , "The Dream of the Female Wolf" , "A Day Worth A Century", "The White Ship", "Farewell Gulsary!",  "Face to Face", "Mother Earth" , "The Cloud which was Angry with Chingis Khan", "The White Dog Running on the Beach" , "Jamila" and  "Camel's Eye" which were translated into many languages worldwide.   

The tour of the Orchestra of Folk Instruments of TURKSOY will go on with a concert in Tokyo on November 18th and end with a Gala Concert in Tokyo on  November 20th, 2018.
