As an international organization which has been carrying out activities to explore, preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Turkic peoples since its establishment in 1993, TURKSOY celebrated its 25th anniversary in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.
In addition to various events held not only in Turkic speaking countries but also worldwide, yet another celebration event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of TURKSOY has now been held in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. The event organized in cooperation of TURKSOY with the embassies of Azerbaijan,Kazakhstan and Turkey in Arjentina took place on October 16th, 2018 in the Kirchner Cultural Center, one of the famous venues of cultural events in Buenos Aires.
The concert “Sounds and Songs: the Turkic Cultural Heritage in Argentina" which was preceded by a photography exhibition gathered the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan H. E. Reşad Aslanov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan H. E. Kayrat Sarjanov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey H. E. Meral Barlas along with representatives of accredited diplomatic missions in Argentina, representatives of the National Congress of Arjentina as well as officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Education of Argentina along with amateurs of art.
The Director of Press and Social Affairs of the Federal System of Argentina Gustavo Mozzi who delivered the opening speech of the event stressed the importance of culture in the strengthening of ties among peoples and expressed his happiness as to the presentation of the rich cultural heritage of Turkic peoples in Argentina.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Resad Aslanov who also delivered a speech on the occasion said that the year 2018 is an important year as it is the 25h anniversary of the establishment of TURKSOY and the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Ambassador Aslanov also said that as a country of the Turkc World, Azerbaijan is actively contributing to the promotion of the common culture of Turkic peoples.
In the speech they delivered, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kayrat Sarjanov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Meral Barlas also stressed the importance of the celebration of TURKSOY's 25th anniversary in Argentina as this contributes to the pormotion of the rich cultural heritage of Turkic peoples as well as to the strengthening of intercultural dialogue.
The Representative of Azerbaijan to TURKSOY Mr. Elçin Gafarlı who also delivered a speech conveyed the greetings of TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov to the audience and gave some information on various events carried out worldwide by TURKSOY on the occasion of the celebration of its 25th anniversary. Mr. Gafarlı who also extended his gratitude to the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey for the support and contribution they provided to the organization of this event further expressed his hope as to the fact that the concert and photography exhibition reflecting the rich common cultural heritage of Turkic peoples shall be appreciated by the people of Argentina and leave a pleasant trace in its memory.
The opening speeches were followed by a concert featuring performances of melodies from the Turkic World by Mugham artists of Azerbaijan Sahib Paşayev (tar), Toğrul Asadullayev (kamancha) and Nigar Shabanova (soloist), as well as artists from Kazakhstan Zinat Kasımova (dombra) and Akerke Tajybayeva (kobyz) along with Bakır Karadağlı (baglama) from Turkey. The highlight of the concert was the song "Adios Nonino" composed by the famous Argentinian composer Astor Piazzola which was played on the tar.
Following the concert which ended with the “Kindredship Song”, the Representative of Azerbaijan to TURKSOY Elçin Gafarlı extended souvenirs of TURKSOY dedicated to şts 25th Anniversary to the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Reşad Aslanov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kayrat Sarjanov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Meral Barlas as well as to the Director of Press and Social Affairs of the Federal System of Argentina Gustavo Mozzi.
