Conference on "Altai, the Golden Cradle of the Turkic World" held in Kazakhstan
A scientific conference on "Altai, the Golden Cradle of the Turkic World" was held in the city of Oskemen in Kazakhstan on September 7th, 2018.
The forum held in the ancient city of Oskemen considered as the capital of Eastern Kazakhstan gathered TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov along with turcologists, archeologists, historians, culturologists, socilogists, linguists and diplomats.
The conference featured two sessions on "Intercultural Dialogue and The Turkic World: philosophy, philology, culturology" and "The Sacred Place of the Planet - Altai: archology, biodiversity and ecological issues" with the contribution of scholars from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, France, Germany, Australia, the Czech Republic and Peru.
This year, activities carried out by this scientific platform established by the Governorate of Eastern Kazakhstan and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) amongst others focused on the new grave of the "Man with the Golden Suit" located in one of the cairns of Eleke Sazy in the province of Tarbagatay in Eastern Kazakhstan.
Mr. Zeynolla Samaşev who shared some information on this recent discovery said that this grave dating back to 2500 years is of utmost importance not only for the peoples living in the region and for the Turkic World but also in terms of world history in general.
Items found in the new grave of the "Man with the Golden Suit" located in the "Shilitki Grave" discovered by Abdesh Tolubayev and exhibited on the occasion of the conference raised great interest among participants.
