Colourful Nevruz Event in Albania

Nevruz celebrations of TURKSOY held within the framework of its international cooperation activities took place in Turkeyt as well as in the Balkans this year. The Nevruz Tour of TURKSOY to the Balkans took place under the motto "Colours of the Turkic World".

After Sarajevo, Zenica, Mostar and Cetinje, artists of the Turkic World brought the joy of Nevruz to Tiran, the capital of the Republic of Albania.

The concert organized in cooperation of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey im Tiran with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, the Yunus Emre Institute of Tiran and TURKSOY featured performances of 70 artists from 10 countries.

In the opening speech he delivered at the concert which he honoured with his presence, the Chief Advisor to the President of the Republic of Turkey  Mr. Yalçın Topçu  said that Albania and Turkey will remain kindred countries until the end of time. Mr. Topçu also complimented the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture Mr. Dusen Kasseinov for his strong contribution to the preservation of these ties of brotherhood  as well as to the development of cultural ties among countries of the Turkic World.

The concert which took place in the MakAlbania Hotel gathered an audience of  400 spectators including high-level diplomatic officials and Ambassadors of approximately 10 countries. At the end of the concert, TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov handed over the Nevruz Plate of TURKSOY to the Director of the Yunus Emre Institute Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş and the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Tiran  H. E.  Murat Ahmet Yörük.
