20th Opera Days of TURKSOY
Within the framework of the 20th Opera Days of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), two concerts were held in Istanbul and Kyrenea.
The Opera Days of TURKSOY 2017 organized in cooperation of TURKSOY with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, the Directorate General of the State Opera and Ballet of the Republic of Turkey and the Emek Foundation of Culture and Art took place with the contribution of 9 artists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Artists of the Turkic World who took part in a masterclass given by the world famous soprano Fiorenza Cedolins between September 5th-10th, 2017 in cooperation of the Maltepe University with TURKSOY took the scene in Turkey on September 11th, 2017 for their first concert of this year's 20th Opera Days of TURKSOY .
The second concert of TURKSOY's Opera Days 2017 took place on September 13th, 2017 in the Bellapais Monastery located in Kyrenea in the TRNC. As every year, the concert which was hosted by the Ministry of National Education and Culture of the TRNC gathered a large audience.
The 20th Opera Days of TURKSOY featured Ali Murat Erengül and Dilruba Akgün from Turkey, Laden Ince from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Chinara Shirinova from Azerbaijan, Jupar Gabdullina and Ilyas Artagaliyev from Kazakhstan and Elnura Samarbekova from Kyrgyzstan. Artists of the Turkic World were accompanied by the pianists Assel Davletyarova from Kazakhstan and Medet Osmonov from Kyrgyzstan.
As an event traditionally held every year since 1994, the Opera Days of TURKSOY which offers a precious opportunity of cultural exchange for famous artists of the Turkic World have taken place in many different cities and countries up to now. As an international organization which has always supported art and artists since its establishment, TURKSOY is further contributing to the promotion of the rich cultural heritage of Turkic peoples with activities it carries out worldwide.
