TURKSOY participated in the Yuruk Turkmen Festival held in Mugla

The 10th Yuruk Turkmen Festival took place in Mugla on May 20th-21st, 2017. The festival was organized in cooperation of  the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey with the Governorate of  Muğla, the Metropolitan Municipality of Mugla, the Municipality of  Menteşe, the Asssociation of Yuruk People of  Muğla and the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Muğla.

The festival featured a photography exhibition and a panel discussion entitled   ''Yuruks and the Turkic World''. At the panel, the Expert of TURKSOY for Siberia Timur B. Davletov delivered a speech on “The Role of TURKSOY in the Preservation and Promotion  of Turkic Culture".

The opening speeches of the festival were delivered by the Chairman of the Association of the Yuruk People of  Muğla Mr. Orhan Akcan, the Mayor of Menteşe Bahattin Gümüş, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Muğla Dr. Osman Gürün and the Governor of Muğla  Amir Çiçek.

The Chairman of the Association of the Yuruk People of  Muğla Mr. Orhan Akcan extended his gratitude to TURKSOY for its support regarding the festival as well as its successful activities aiming at  the preservation, exploration and worldwide promotion of Turkic culture and art. Mr Akcan further expressed his wish as to the continuation of fruitful cooperation activities in the future.
