First International Suna Kan Violin Competition
The final session of the "First International Suna Kan Violine Competition" organized by the Association of State Conservatories of Ankara and sponsored by the International organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY took place on April 30th, 2017.
The competition took place in the Concert Hall of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Turkey. While the jury of the competition was chaired by the State Artist Suna KAN, members of the jury were Yusuf Güler AKSOZ (Konzertmeister and Conductor - Turkey) Tayfun BOZOK ( Konzertmeister of the State Opera and Ballet of Ankara – 1st violin of the Bozok Quartet- Deputy Chairman of the ADK-DER Association - Turkey), Alessandro CEDRONE (Music Director of the State Opera and Ballet of Ankara -Violinist-Turkey), Alexander MARKOV (USA), Veniamin VARSHAVSKIY (Russia).
Among 21 applicants, 14 were invited to participate in the competition which took place in Ankara between May 28th-30th, 2017 .

The final round of the competition held on April 30th, 2017 ended with the following result:

Ezgi Su Apaydın received the Honorable Mention Award of the competition for her performance of the composition by Onur Arınç Duran who had won the first prize in the "Fourth Competition of Compositions" organized by the Association of Students of the State Conservatory of Ankara (ADK-DER).The award ceremony of the competition was held in the Concert Hall of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Turkey. Plaquettes and certificates were handed over to competitors by Mrs. Suna KAN and the Chairman of our association Mrs. Arzu GURERK SUGUNES, while the prize money was handed over by TURKSOY Secretary General Prof. Dusen KASSEINOV.
