Condolence message of TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov for Prof. Dr. Halil INALCIK

It is with deep sorrow that we have been informed about the passing of Prof. Dr. Halil INALCIK who was a great Turkish historian and scholar.

As a scholar who dedicated his entire life to academic research in the field of history, Prof. Dr. Halil INALCIK always stressed the fact that every nation should be aware of its history.  The decease of Prof. Dr. Halil INALCIK who was awarded the Honour Medal of TURKSOY in recognition of his valuable contribution to academic research on Turkic culture, history and art is a great loss for the entire Turkic World. On behalf of the Ministers of Culture of Turkc Speaking Countries and of all staff members of TURKSOY, I wish to express my sincere condolences to his family and beloved ones. May he rest in peace.
