Inventory of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Turkic World published in July 2015
Under the leadership of the Ahmet Yesevi University, our organization has provided its support to the publication of an inventory of the intangible cultural heritage of the Turkic World.
With the contribution of TURKSOY, the book entitled ''An Inventory of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Turkic World'' (144 pages), has been published in July 2015.
The book is comprised of two volumes. While the first volume deals with items of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and autonomous republics of the Russian Federation included in the related list of the UNESCO, the second volume sheds a light on common values of Turkic Islamic cultures, also featuring items nominated for inclusion in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the UNESCO.
More than being a mere list enumerating items of the extremely rich, intangible cultural heritage of the Turkic World, this book is a detailed research on all aspects of traditions, customs and lifestyles which make up the folk culture of Turkic peoples.
The editor of this book is Dr. Murat Yılmaz.
