Nogai - Kazak Friendship Celebration

On the occasion of the 22nd Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a Nogai-Kazak Friendship celebration was held at the  Korkut Ata Congress and Culture Center on December 22nd, 2013.

The celebration event organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture  (TURKSOY), the Municipality of Etimesgut, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ankara  and the Association of Nogai Turks' Culture and Solidarity was attended by many guests.
The event featuring folk dances of the Kazak, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Azerbaijani and Turkmen  people along with the brilliant performance of the Yesevi Art Ensemble interpreting works by  famous artists of the Turkic World such as  Dinmuhammed Kasımbek, Araylım Gaipova, Meircan Jumamuratov, Yelmira Shenduran and Fayzulla Musayev was extremely appreciated by the audience.
 
The event where  Arslanbek Sultanbekov, famous for his dombra song,  also took the scene as guest artist, ended with the song "Kazakhstan performed by all contributing artists together

The Nogai Turks are the closest relatives of the Kazak people

TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov who made the opening speech of the Nogai-Kazak Friendship celebration extended his gratitude to all institutions and organizations which  contributed to the event. Mr. Kaseinov who also stressed that the Nogay Turks are the closest relatives of the Kazak people described the importance of the Nogay people in kazak culture with the following words: "Various elements of cultural heritage and traditions of the Nogai people are still being preserved in Kazak culture. Thus, there are more than sixty Nogai legends recounting the life of illustrious Nogai personalities such as Edigey, Mamay, Musa, Telagis and Saire and many melancholic folk melodies such as Nogaylinin Zari, Bala Nogay and Saire still stand for the unity of the Nogai and Kazak people."
