Great Success of the Birjan and Sarah Opera
The Premiere Performance of the Birjan and Sarah Opera was attended by a large audience of art-lovers of Samsun who highly appreciated the event.
The Premiere Performance of the Birjan and Sarah Opera dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the famous Kazak composer Mukan Tulebayev was attended by a large audience of art-lovers of Samsun who highly appreciated the event held on November 18th, 2013 with the contribution of artists of the State Opera and Ballet of Samsun in cooperation with the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).
The event which received standing ovations from the audience gathered many high-level guests including officials and artists.
The performance was followed by an official dinner hosted by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and the Metropolitan Municipality of Samsun which gathered the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Samsun Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz, the Director General of the State Opera and Ballet of Samsun Volkan Kıran, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov, along with artists as well as all staff members who contributed to the realization of the event.
The performance of this masterpiece of the famous Kazak composer Mukan Tulebayev in Turkey on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birthday coincided with the declaration of the year 2013 as year of Mukan Tulebayev by TURKSOY. Thus, the event was attended by Mukan Tulebayev's son Aydar Tulebayev, nephew Anvar Tulebayev, grandson, daughter-in-law and son-in-law who were present both at the Premiere as well as the official dinner. During the dinner TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov handed over certificates of appreciation to all contributing artists and offered the Honour Medal of TURKSOY dedicated to the year of Mukan Tulebayev to the Director General of the State Opera and Ballet of Samsun Volkan Kıran, the Art Director Prof. Dr. Eflatun Neimetzade as well as to Mukan Tulebayev's relatives.
The dinner took place in a pleasant atmosphere enjoyed by all artists and participants.
With the Premiere of Mukan Tulebayev's "Birjan and Sarah", a Kazak opera has been included in the Turkish opera repertoire for the first time.
