TURKSOY Youth Chamber Orchestra

The Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY gave a concert at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ankara. As of June 6th, 2011 this year the birthday of the great Russian poet and author Alexander Pushkin will be annually commemorated both in Russia and the whole world as the Official Day of Russian Language. This year, within the framework of this day a cultural and artistic event was hosted by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ankara Vladimir İvanovskiy who made an opening speech in which he expressed his happiness about the fact that the Russian language and culture is getting more and more popular every day in Turkey.

The event featured reading and translation competitions among amateurs of Russian literature who read or translated extracts of Pushkin’s Works into Turkish which were dedicated to the 212nd anniversary of the Russian author.

At the event realized upon initiative of the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Dusen Kaseinov within the framework of the National Day of Russian Language celebrated at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ankara, a concert was given by the String Quartet gathering artists of the Youth Chamber Orchestra. The String Quartet composed of Beste Sevindik (violin), Buğucan Eroğlu (violin), Melis Ezgi Sakabaş (cello), Tuğçe Uçar (viola) was extremely appreciated by the audience.
