TURKSOY Secretary General Kaseınov Vısıted Mehmet Ali Şahin

The Secretary General of TURKSOY, the International Organization of Turkic Culture, Dusen Kaseinov and his Ass. Secretary General , Ass. Prof. Fırat Purtaş have visited the President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey.

In the meeting which took place on April 19th, 2011, Mr. Kaseinov expressed his gratitude to Mr. Sahin for his support as to the Nevruz events which were organized by TURKSOY in the General Assembly Hall of the UN in New York. Kaseinov said: "All the participating artists and members of TURKSOY have been very honoured by the fact that you did not leave us alone in our concert which we organized in the premises of the UN wher you made an opening speech”, and gave information about the Nevruz activities which took place in New York, Boston and Washington.

President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Mr Şahin said that he was proud to see Turkish Folk Dances performed in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations and congratulated TURKSOY fort he events organized in the USA.

Kaseinov who also informed Mr. Sahin on the cooperation agreement signed between TURKSOY and ISESCO, said that they foresee to organize next year’s Nevruz celebrations in cooperation with ISESCO. Kaseinov who also said that after Europe and the United States, they now aim at making Nevruz beter known to the Arab world, asked Mr. Sahin for his support concerning TURKSOY’s efforts in this aim. Kaseinov also invited Mr Sahin to the Sabantoy celebrations which will take place on May 2 5th-26th. Sahin who stressed the fact that TURKSOY plays a key role in the presentation of Turkic culture around the world, said that he would be very happy to both participate in and support TURKSOY’S activities.

Later on, Sahin was informed about TURKSOY’s organizational structure and its member countries. Sahin who examined the latest issue of TURSKOY’s quaterly magazine and brochures praised TURKSOY publications. At the end of the meeting, TURKSOY Secretary General Kaseinov offered pictures of TURKSOY events which recently took place in the premises of the UN General Assembly Hall and a plate with the amblem of TURKSOY in commemoration thereof to Mr Sahin. In return, Sahin has handed over some souvenirs from the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey to Mr. Kaseinov.
