10th International Symposium of Young Turkologists held at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University
The 10th International Symposium of Young Turkologists, organized by the Department of Turkology of the Faculty of Literature of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in memory of the late President of the Association of Eurasian Authors Dr. Yakup Omeroglu started with the opening session on April 21st, 2025 at the Kassym Tınıstanov Conference Hall.
The symposium, organized for the tenth time in partnership with TURKSOY, allows young researchers working in the field of Turkology to share their scientific work and foster their interdisciplinary cooperation.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultan Raev stated that Turkology is not only an academic discipline but also a field of science that keeps the common cultural memory alive and carries it into the future. “Gatherings of young scholars from different parts of the Turkic World on such platforms significantly contribute to the strengthening of our common identity,” said Raev.
In his speech, Mr. Raev also paid tribute to the memory of the recently deceased President of the Association of Eurasian Authors Mr. Yakup Ömeroğlu. Emphasizing that Ömeroğlu made significant contributions to the culture and literature of the Turkic World, Raev said: "Yakup Ömeroğlu was not only an ambassador of Eurasia or a publisher; he was also a lover of culture, a man of heart. Under his leadership, hundreds of works were translated into Turkish from different languages of the Turkic World. This played a key role in building bridges between our peoples."
Within the scope of the symposium, many papers on Turkish language, history, literature and culture are expected to be presented. The event held with the contribution of young scholars is also considered as an important step in strengthening cultural ties within the Turkic World.
