100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Kara-Khirgiz Autonomous Oblast
In line with the decision of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) participated in the 100th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of the Kara-Kirghiz Autonomous Oblast. Within the framework of the afore-mentioned celebrations, President Sadyr Japarov inaugurated 100 new commercial and social facilities online.
The celebrations held with the participation of TURKSOY featured the inauguration of a cultural center named after Urkash Mambetaliev, the famous Kyrgyz People's Artist, Manaschy and pioneer. The opening ceremony held in the village of Taldisuu in the Karkirin region took place in the presence of Mr. Kanat Mambetaliev, the representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to TURKSOY.
In the opening speech he delivered at the event Mr. Mambetaliev conveyed the greetings of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev to the audience and noted that during his term in office as Minister of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Sultan Raev participated in many cultural events in the country and abroad and contributed to Kyrgyz culture together with Mr. Urkash Mambetaliev, who worked at the National Philharmonic of Kyrgyzstan.
Upon instruction of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Mr. Mambetaliev handed over Medals and Certificates of Appreciation of TURKSOY to Mr. Elchibek Jantaev, the Special Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the region of Osh as well as to high-level officials of the region of Taldisuu and to Kyrgyz artists and intellectuals in recognition of their precious contribution to the promotion and development of Kyrgyz culture and civilisation.
The foundations of the present Independent Kyrgyz Republic were laid on May 25th, 1925 with the establishment of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Republic in the Soviet Union.
