A Delegation from Trabzon visitedTURKSOY Headquarters

On June 6th, 2017, representatives of the Governorate of Trabzon, the Metropolitan Municipality of Trabzon and the Trabzon Branch of the Union of Architects and Engineers of the Turkic World visited TURKSOY Headquarters.

 

Members of the delegation welcomed by TURKSOY Secretary General touched upon successful activities carried out in cooperation of TURKSOY with the city of  Trabzon and expressed their wish as to further develop this cooperation.

 

The delegation gathering the Director of the Trabzon Branch of the UAETW Sayım Adanur, the Director of Cultural Affairs of the Metropolitan Municipality of Trabzon Ali Ayvazoğlu, Council Members of the Metropolitan Municipality of Trabzon Huseyin Azizoğlu, Ufuk Hoş, the Director of the Trabzon Branch of the Chamber of Machine Engineers Şaban Bulbul, the Director of Ankara Iskur Ahmet Taşan and the Advisor to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ali Faik Hacıoglu expressed their wish  to see Trabzon bear the title of Cultural Capital of the Turkic World  2018 and said that they are ready to take all steps necessary in this direction.

 

Ambassador Kasseinov who extended his gratitude to the members of the delegation from Trabzon for their interest in TURKSOY's tradition to declare one city of the Turkic World as its cultural capital every year said that Trabzon is one of the cities of the Turkic World which deserves to bear this title, both in cultural terms as well as in terms of its infrastructural capacity. Ambassador Kasseinov further said: "We are happy to see that there is growing interest to participate in our initiative to declare one city of the Turkic World as its Cultural Capital every year. This is an initative we had launched back in 2012. As you know, the decision as to which city of the Turkic World should bear this title is made based on the unanimous vote of Ministers of Culture of our member countries. The applications are submitted via Ministries of Culture of our member countries and evaluated during Meetings of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY. I wish you further success in your future actvities ".
